The Department of Agriculture Trade and Consumer Protection will be speaking at the Wisconsin Hemp Expo. DATCP will be explaining the rules and regulations for the new Wisconsin Hemp program. It appears that DATCP will have the applications available that day.
As Wisconsin bill SB119 became law on November 30, 2017, at 2pm when Governor Walker signed this bill, the hemp industry will be resurrected in the State of Wisconsin. The resurrection of the Hemp industry in Wisconsin means an ecologically friendly profitable crop will be available to family farms. A whole new industry of processing and manufacturing will flourish in Wisconsin. Hemp will be used for fibers for clothing ropes and other materials, meal for food products, oils for cosmetics, plastics, bio fuels and medicines. Wisconsin will join 31 other states which have legalized hemp farming.
