The country of Greece has a growing industry focused on the cultivation, production, and sale of hemp and CBD products with many companies emphasizing organic and sustainable practices. There are a few companies in Greece that already produce CBD oils and other CBD products like the Greek CBD farm, Hellenic dynamics and the Kannabio Hemp cooperative to name a few. There are also industrial hemp projects in Greece as well. The country has actively been cultivating hemp for various industrial purposes, including biomass production and Eco sustainable development. A few notable companies like Olympians Hemp, use processes like CO2 supercritical extraction to create eco-friendly products. There are also research projects aimed at creating high-yield varieties of hemp like Futura 75, which are well suited to grow in the Greek Agroclimate conditions.
SCSE chairman Calvin Frye stated, “I think that this is a great opportunity for the National Hemp Association to build bridges internationally with countries that are interested in promoting not only the CBD market but industrial hemp as well. Being on the board of directors with this company will put me in a position to make changes at a C suite level to really push the envelope on all the new hemp technologies.”
Another benefit of teaming up internationally is to bring awareness to climate change. Hemp technologies are increasingly recognized as a powerful tool in combating climate change due to its environmental benefits. SZ Pharma also works with major universities like the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki to assist in clinical trials for using hemp and cannabis products as medicine. Hopefully with the combined efforts and resources associated with the National Hemp Association and other universities within the region of Greece, we can work in an environment that doesn’t impede or bog down our efforts with bureaucratic red tape.
